Does My Child Need Airway Orthodontic Treatment?
Early intervention is critical to your child's oral and airway health. If your child (or you!) experience difficulty breathing during sleep, it's time to request an appointment. Sleep disordered breathing and its associated symptoms can be caused by partial or complete obstruction of the upper airway. Up to 5% of children may be affected by obstructive sleep apnea, or OSA. This can mean an increased risk of developing health problems later in life, in addition to creating behavioral problems or learning disorders in the present.
